Greek islands

The biggest Greek island and the "pearl of the Mediterranean" is Crete. There is a lot to discover here - whether it be the mountains from which you have a fantastic panoramic view or a relaxed time at the beach in Malata, once a place where international hippies flocked to... or maybe one would like to stroll thorugh the old part of Heraklion and marvel at some ancient ruins in the urban hinterland, such as the Palace of Knossos. In the evening, the path might lead to one of the many quaint taverns that entice visitors to enjoy some delicious Greek specialities.

Upon arrival at the airport Kerkyra in Corfu City, the beautiful view from the airplane already makes everybody's hearts beat faster! This is where every trip to Corfu begins. Numerous sights and a very distinct old city that was shaped by British and venetian influences invite the curious traveller to linger a while. In terms of landscape, Corfu is a winner of course. Lovers of nature will find the natural diversity on this island fascinating. A wonderful sunset is best enjoyed in a tradtional tavern. The cuisine here is quite different from the typically Greek one.

Without a doubt, the sun island Rhodes is one of the best-known places of interest and quintessentially Greek - the white houses here convey a sense of ultimate holiday feeling. Especially the small village Lindos offers a lot of tradition and culture to be experienced, and its narrow, crooked streets as well as the castle ruins on the hill belong on every must-see list. Rhodes city must not be missed either, with its market, its harbour promenade or the old city!

Kos may be one of the smaller islands, but it is well worth visiting! 112 km of coastline with beaches - paradise has a name! A lot of the island life takes place here, in the upcountry culture vultures will find ancient excavations and ruins. Day tours to the surrounding and mostly unspoilt islands are a highlight you definitely need to include in your programmes!
