Tailor made trips to Namibia

The Namib is one of the few coastal deserts on earth and is home to several national parks. In addition, large parts of the dry desert, the so-called Namib Sand Sea, have even been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Here you can marvel at Sossusvlei, the highest dunes in the world; an absolute insider tip: hovering over the dunes in a hot air balloon.

The capital Windhoek is the political and economic center of the country and is even located almost in the geographical center. It is also almost the only real city in the country. The official language is English, but you can still communicate in German in many places, as Namibia is a former German colony. The cityscape, strongly influenced by colonial times, is very different from other African cities and is definitely worth a visit!

A highlight and absolute must of every Namibia trip is the visit of the Etosha National Park. Since 1907 the park is a game reserve in which almost 45,000 wild animals, almost every African big game species, can be observed in their natural habitat, among them of course the Big Five, which are also at home in other parts of the country, for example in the Caprivi tip.

Probably the most "German" town in Namibia is Swakopmund. Nowhere is German colonial history more visible than there. Among the locals, the town is known as the southernmost North Sea resort in Germany and is called just Swakop for short. Only the palm trees and the blowing sand of the Namib make you realize that you are not in Germany after all. Swakopmund is the halfway point of many Namibia tours and travelers have the opportunity to take a deep breath while enjoying Black Forest cake.

The country's area is more than twice as large as Germany's and is characterized by the Namib and Kalahari deserts; the highest mountain is the 2,600m high Königstein, located near the coast. The climate is generally hot and dry.

Namibia is waiting to be discovered. Find out what our incoming partners have in store for your clients!
