Incoming Agency Luxe Asia

Sri Lanka means "resplendent island": endless beaches, mystical cultural treasures, vast green tea plantations, unspoilt rainforests...need we say more?  If you want to explore the culture of Sri Lanka, take a stroll across one of the busy markets or see how slow life is in the countryside. Few places on earth boast so many UNESCO world culture heritage sites as Sri Lanka. The bright white beaches invite you to let your soul unwind, but if you're feeling adventurous, try surfing or diving. Not only can you choose from a wide range of activities in Sri Lanka, it is also quite affordable, without the tourist masses known from countries such as Thailand!

The weather in Colombo

Sri Lanka

The capital Colombo lies on the West coast of the island and has been known as the port city since the 5th century. The name derives from the time when it was conquered by the Portuguese and means "port". Right in the middle of the city is Beira lake, in the midst of which swims a Hindu temple, and on the shore stands Colombo World Trade Center, the second-highestbuilding in Southeast Asia. This mix of modernity and colonial architecture together with its multiethnic population makes Sri Lanka a very interesting destination!
