Nepal

A visit to Everest Base Camp is a must for most travellers! Adrenalin junkies will find their Eldorado here in the Himalayas with its 326 mountain peaks. Those who love nature and hiking should plan a trekking tour. The landscapes alternate between green terraces, dense forests, marshy grasslands and wide rivers past small mountain villages. The people there are very hospitable and are smilingly happy about every visitor. Furthermore, national parks invite you to explore the animal and plant world. Did you know that Nepal has the last surviving armoured rhinos? On a jungle safari on the back of an elephant you can get very close to them and numerous other rare animal species. Whether white-water rafting, kayaking, bungee jumping, mountain biking or paragliding over the fantastic backdrop of the mountains, every adventurer gets his money's worth here. But Nepal also has a lot of culture to offer. The Kathmandu Valley, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is characterised by Hindu statues of gods, Buddhist temples and pagodas. It is rare to see so much culture in one place.

Nepal lies between Tibet in the north and India in the south. A large part of the Himalayas lies to the north and east.
