Kenya – Home of the Safari

The diversity of wildlife in Kenya is simply amazing. Kenya has a considerable area of wildlife habitat, including the Masai Mara, where wildebeest and other cattle participate in a huge annual migration. More than 1 million wildebeest and 200,000 zebra take part in the migration across the Mara River. Africa's "Big Five", i.e. lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant, are found in Kenya and especially in the Masai Mara.

Each wilderness area is specially marked because it has something unique to offer. From the "Big Five" to the "Small Five", Shades of Green Safaris will give you the best safari adventures. Water sports enthusiasts will get their money's worth on Kenya's wild rivers, lakes and vast Indian Ocean, finding the perfect opportunity for motorised and non-motorised water sports. If your clients are looking for the opportunity to climb to the top of Mount Kenya or go hiking, experience paragliding in the Kerio Valley, explore the trails of Mount Longo by bike, take extended beach holidays or play golf, then this is the place for them.

Kenya is an East African country whose coast runs along the Indian Ocean. Central Kenya is crossed by the Rift Valley. The highest mountain in Kenya is Batian (5199m) in the Mount Kenya massif. The country is characterised by two climatic zones; the highlands with two annual rainy seasons and cold nights, and the coast with high humidity and temperatures between 22 and 32°C. The rift valley in Kenya has created impressive mountain massifs such as Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. The landscape of East Africa is characterised by savannahs such as the Serengeti and Masai Mara. Wildebeest cross the expanses during their annual migration. But tropical forests, such as the home of the mountain gorillas in Uganda, also invite you to exciting voyages of discovery. Look forward to spectacular landscapes and exciting observations of wild animals, including the "Big Five": lion, African buffalo, African elephant, rhino and leopard. On the safaris of our East African partner agency Shades of Green Safaris you will get to know the most popular nature parks and game reserves in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania with Zanzibar, Rwanda and Burundi. Experienced guides know the right tricks to spot even shy wild animals. Enchant your holiday guests and let them experience Africa in all its glory on a trip with individual Kenya safari and beach extensions for an unforgettable African holiday. Nairobi is Kenya's capital and often the starting point for safaris. A popular time for wildlife viewing are the drier months (Jul-Oct), when vegetation declines and animals gather at watering holes.

In neighbouring Namibia, wildlife and photo-loving safari travellers will find their Eldorado. Visit the world-famous Etosha National Park and observe giraffes, rhinos, leopards, lions, zebras and various antelope species up close.

Kenya is waiting to be discovered. Find out what our incoming partners have in store for your clients!
