What are guaranteed departures/SIC?
Guaranteed departures - also called SIC (seat-in-coach) tours - which many of our partner DMCs offer, are tours in which small groups or individual travellers/FIT, e.g. single travellers, small groups, couples or families can participate.
Guaranteed departured/SIC have a fixed programme with fixed departure days and times of the buses. SIC stands for Seat-in-Coach tours, which means that customers share an (air-conditioned) coach and other services such as transfers and tour guides also with other tourists who do not belong to their own group. Tour operators can easily book holidaymakers on tours and thus add a cost-effective and flexible option to their product range.
Guaranteed departure tours are often guaranteed from 2 persons upwards, which means that they definitely come about from a minimum number of people. This also makes them very attractive for tour operators, as they can be booked without much effort and without risk.
The trip is accompanied by an often German-speaking tour guide. This person takes the holiday guests on their round trip to the most beautiful sights and accompanies the customers during the trip.
Compared to private tours, the price of the tour is much better, as the group tours are larger. The price-performance ratio is better, especially for individual travellers and smaller groups. On the other hand, private trips are more flexible and you stay among yourselves.
